Why I built Guise: a $0 antidetect workspace for scraping and automation

GoLogin was too expensive and felt old. So I built Guise — a local-first profile manager with isolated browsers, stable fingerprints, dedicated proxies, and human-like replay. Total infra cost: $0.

TL;DR: I do scraping and automation. GoLogin was too expensive and felt old, so I built Guise, a local-first profile manager with isolated browsers, stable fingerprints, dedicated proxies, cookie sharing, and human-like replay. Total infra cost: $0.

The idea

One profile = one identity. Separate browser storage, a stable fingerprint, a dedicated proxy, shareable cookies, replayable automation. Everything runs locally on my Windows machine. No cloud seat.

The problem

  1. Price: antidetect browsers rent you your own profiles. Free tiers are tiny (usually about 3 profiles), then about $9/mo for 10, $30 to $50/mo for 100, $100+/mo for teams. Costs scale with my own browsing.
  2. Feel: most tools feel dated, built for teams sharing profiles, not for someone running scrapers and automation flows all day.
  3. Fit: I don’t need cloud launches and seats. I need bulk profile creation, automatic proxy assignment, safe defaults, and record-once / replay automation with human-like behavior.

The solution: Guise (final product)

A local Windows desktop app plus a modern web UI. Each profile keeps its own browser storage, a dedicated proxy, and a stable undetected-browser configuration in the engine you choose.

  • Create profiles in bulk, organize them into groups, and reorder them easily
  • Pick Undetected Firefox or Undetected Chrome per profile, whichever fits the site. Firefox gives full fingerprint matching; Chrome is a lightweight stock option
  • Use stable fingerprints that persist across restarts, with easy reset when you want a fresh identity. Headers and fingerprints look real and match the profile and proxy, so locale and identity stay consistent
  • Assign named proxy groups automatically, with passwords kept in Windows Credential Manager, never in files. Safe defaults prevent IP leaks
  • Log in once, then copy session cookies from one profile to others. Useful for carrying auth state without logging in everywhere
  • Record a browsing flow once, replay it like a human. It pauses for human input when checks appear, then resumes after
  • Runs on your machine, works offline, with desktop conveniences like tray and autostart

Cost: $0 vs rented profiles

Guise Typical antidetect paid tiers (Oct 2026)
3 profiles $0 Free tier
10 profiles $0 ~$9/mo
100 profiles $0 ~$30-50/mo
300-500 $0 (machine limit) ~$99-119/mo
1,000+ $0 (machine limit) ~$299/mo+

Guise costs proxies + electricity. No per-profile rent, no seat to keep automation alive.

Vs GoLogin, NstBrowser, and the rest

Looking for a GoLogin alternative or NstBrowser alternative? Same category: Multilogin, Octo Browser, AdsPower, Dolphin Anty, Undetectable, Incogniton, Hidemyacc, Kameleo.

Differences that matter for scraping and automation:

  • Profiles and storage stay on your PC. No profile caps, no traffic-metered launches
  • Two undetected browsers: Firefox or Chrome per profile instead of one-size-fits-all
  • Fingerprints and locale follow the profile and proxy, so every identity looks coherent
  • Each profile gets a dedicated proxy with safe defaults that prevent leaks
  • Move logged-in sessions between profiles instead of logging in everywhere
  • Record once, replay like a human. Most antidetect browsers leave automation to you
  • Light/dark mode, bulk actions, clean layout. It does not look like a 2018 admin panel

If you just need 3 free profiles in the cloud, GoLogin or NstBrowser free tiers are fine. If you run dozens of scraper identities daily, per-profile pricing gets old fast. That is why Guise exists.

Tech stack

Frontend: Next.js 16, React 19, TypeScript 5.9, Tailwind CSS 4, shadcn/ui + Radix, Motion, Sonner, Recharts Backend: Python 3.11+, FastAPI, undetected Firefox + undetected Chrome engines, httpx + SOCKS, SQLite, Windows Credential Manager, Uvicorn Desktop: Rust + Tauri 2 (tray, single-instance, autostart, opener, notification, custom protocol), pinned browser runtimes Tooling: Docker Compose for reproducible builds, PowerShell setup/start scripts, Wrangler/Vinext web targets, pytest

For hirers: full-stack isolation (browser fingerprinting + networking + OS secrets), local-first security model, desktop/web hybrid, real automation replay engine, not CRUD.

What’s next

  • More human replay fidelity
  • Smarter proxy health checks
  • Signed MSI auto-update

Built for lawful use only: my own scraping and automation, without renting my profiles back.
